Complaints and Appeals

The journal provides a fair procedure for complaints and appeals.

Complaints may concern:

• editorial procedures;
• peer review;
• ethical issues;
• reviewer conduct;
• editor conduct;
• published articles;
• licensing; or
• journal administration.

Complaints should be submitted to the Editorial Office with sufficient evidence.

Authors may appeal an editorial decision when they believe that a substantial scientific, factual, technical, or procedural error affected the decision.

If a complaint concerns the Editor-in-Chief, the matter must be handled by Independent Senior Editor who was not involved in the original decision.

An appeal does not guarantee reversal of the original editorial decision.
