The journal’s ethical policies are informed by internationally recognized principles of responsible research and scholarly publication, particularly the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices.
Authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher are expected to maintain high ethical standards throughout the publication process.
The journal takes allegations involving the following matters seriously:
- plagiarism;
- data fabrication;
- data falsification;
- duplicate publication;
- redundant publication;
- inappropriate authorship;
- citation manipulation;
- peer-review manipulation;
- undisclosed conflicts of interest;
- unethical research;
- manipulation of images or datasets;
- fabricated references;
- research without required ethical approval; and
- systematic manipulation of the publication process.
Where credible concerns arise, the journal will examine the available evidence and take proportionate action.
Actions may include requesting clarification, requesting research records, suspending editorial processing, rejecting a manuscript, issuing a correction, publishing an expression of concern, or retracting a published article.
